Caucasia is a colombian municipality located in the subregion of Bajo Cauca, in the department of Antioquia. This city is known as the capital of Bajo Cauca because it is the main urban and commercial center of the subregion. Caucasia limits by the north with the department of Cordoba, by the east it limits with the municipalities of Nechi and El Bagre, by the south it limits with the municipality of Zaragoza, and by the west it limits with the municipality of Caceres.
In 1927 Caucasia was designated corregimiento. The economy of Caucasia is specially based on ranching, fishing, agriculture and mining (gold and silver).
