Colombian municipality located in the western subregion of Antioquia’s department. In the north, it borders with the municipalities of Frontino and Cañasgordas, on the east with the municipalities of Giraldo and Santa Fe de Antioquia, on the south with the municipalities of Caicedo and Urrao, and on the west with the municipalities of Urrao and Frontino. According to records, during the conquest Abriaqui was inhabited by indians of the nation of Catios. Abriaqui is known as a "natural watercolor" or as the "manger of Antioquia" because of its beautiful nature. Currently, its main economic income is generated by agriculture, ranching and handicrafts.
