Colombia’s municipality located in the western subregion of the department of Antioquia. To the north it borders with the municipalities of Caicedo and Santa Fe de Antioquia, to the east with the municipality of Ebejico, to the south with the municipalities of Armenia and Betulia, and to the west with the municipalities of Urrao and Caicedo. It’s one of the oldest municipalities of Antioquia and was one of the largest.In 1560 approximately settled the first population of the zone. At first, these lands were given to Captain Francisco de Guzmán and Céspedes through the "mercedes" of lands that gave the Spanish kingdom. In 1813, Anza was erected municipality.Currently, the main economic sources of the municipality are agriculture (coffee), livestock, mining and handicrafts.
