Giraldo is a colombian municipality located in the Department of Antioquia, north of Santa Fe. There is information regarding a small settlement named “Arro” in the region, which received its name from the local people belonging to the Katíos culture. Afterwards, in 1865 during the colombian expansion through Antioquia, it was erected as a municipality, and was named “Giraldo” in honor of the antioquian gobernor don Rafael María Giraldo.Giraldo is a small rural town, which still keeps its local customs. It has several attractions for ecotourism, such as natural pools, caves, natural reserves and natural viewpoints from which you can observe the beauty of Antioquia.
